Mumbai: Two children, missing for hours, found dead in locked car in Antop Hill

Mumbai: On Thursday, an official said that two children missing for hours were found dead inside a parked car at Antop Hill in central Mumbai. Official added that there were no injury marks on the bodies of the children.

Mumbai: On Thursday, an official said that two children missing for hours were found dead inside a parked car at Antop Hill in central Mumbai. Official added that there were no injury marks on the bodies of the children.

They also said that it is believed that the kids locked themselves inside the car while playing and died due to suffocation. Muskan Mohabbat Shaikh (5) and Sajid Mohammed Shaikh (7) were playing outside their house on Wednesday afternoon where the car was parked.

They added that when the children did not return home till evening, their parents started a search for them. After that their parents registered a missing complaint at 6:30 pm at Antop Hill police station.

A man found the children lying unconscious inside the car, a few hours later. The official said that the doors of the vehicle were opened and the children were rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared them dead.

After the primarily information, the official said that it appears that the children died of suffocation after being locked inside the car. He said the police are checking footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area and probing all possible angles. After this incident, a case of accidental death has been registered as of now, he said.
