Massive tornado swept through US state of Nebraska, causing severe damage to homes | Videos

Nebraska: A tornado wreaked havoc in suburban Omaha, Nebraska on Friday afternoon and caused massive destruction. Seeing the magnitude of this tornado, the whole of Nebraska was horrified. Videos and pictures on social media showed immense black twisters sweeping across the sky and turning over earth, dust, and materials in their path.

One such clip on X showed a man driving a car on the highway north of Lincoln in Nebraska. The clip was shared with the text, “Incredible tornado intercept just now north of Lincoln Nebraska!!”

Several tornadoes were observed in Nebraska, including one in particular making its way to the northwest suburbs of Omaha. Seeing this tornado with the vehicles moving on the roads, it seemed as if a monster had come down to earth to swallow the world.

Social media platforms were flooded with photos showing the aftermath of the disaster, showing severely damaged homes and uprooted trees. Video captures horrific scenes of debris-strewn landscapes.

Three people were injured in Lancaster County, Nebraska, when a tornado struck an industrial building, causing the building to collapse with 70 people inside. Officials said several people were trapped, but all were rescued and the injuries were not life-threatening.

According to the Associated Press, Omaha Police Lt. Neil Bonacci said hundreds of homes were damaged in Omaha. Police and fire fighters reached door to door to help people. Omaha Fire Chief Kathy Bosman said crews went to the hardest-hit area and searched everywhere there was a possibility someone could be trapped.

Over 70 tornadoes were recorded across the US by the National Weather Service (NWS), most of them around Omaha, a transportation hub in Nebraska. Around 11,000 households were without power as tornadoes struck Nebraska.

Tornadoes, weather phenomena that are as impressive as they are difficult to predict, are relatively common in the US, especially in the central and southern parts of the country.
