Mauritius: An official said that Six pilgrims died and many others were injured in a massive fire breaks out during a religious ritual in Mauritius on Sunday. Mauritius Police gave this information. After receiving information about this incident local police and fire brigade reached the on spot.

This accident happened during a festival before Shivratri. About this incident, Anil Kumar Dip, Police commissioner said that the blaze erupted when a wooden and bamboo cart displaying figurines of Hindu deities caught fire after coming into contact with exposed electric wires.

He also said,”The accident claimed six victims and left seven injured, including one who is in serious condition.”

According to the report, the pilgrims were travelling on foot to the Grand Bassin lake, which is deemed sacred by the east African island nation Hindu community, ahead of the Shivaratri festival on March 8.
