In anticipation of the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh-Amrit Kalash Yatra', the Delhi Traffic Police issued a special traffic advisory on Sunday at Vijay Chowk on October 30-31. In order to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the city, the traffic police mentioned detailed instructions for the general public on road regulations as well as designated parking spots.

New Delhi: In anticipation of the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh-Amrit Kalash Yatra’, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a special traffic advisory on Sunday at Vijay Chowk on October 30-31. In order to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the city, the traffic police mentioned detailed instructions for the general public on road regulations as well as designated parking spots.

“The traffic movement will be regulated/diverted accordingly from the adjoining roads/stretches to Vijay Chowk on October 30 and 31 between 0900 hrs to 2100 hrs, also as and when required,” the advisory stated.

Roads To Be Avoided In Delhi On October 30, 31
According to the advisory, the following roads have been recommended to be avoided unless absolutely necessary:

– Round About (R/A) Shanti Path/Kautilya Marg
– R/A Patel Chowk
– Bhinder Point Junction
– R/A – GPO (Gol Dak Khana)
– Aurbindo Chowk
– R/A – Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital
– R/A GRG (Gurudwara Rakabganj)
– R/A Motilal Nehru Place
– R/A Mandi House
– R/A Firoz Shah/Ashoka Road
– R/A Raja Ji Marg
– R/A Firoz Shah Road/KG Marg
– R/A MAR Janpath
– Mahadev Road
– R/A Rajender Prasad Road/Janpath
– R/A Patel Chowk

Designated Parking Spots for Buses
To facilitate the smooth conduct of the mega event in the capital city, specific areas have been allocated as parking spots for buses, which include:

– IGI Stadium Buses Parking
– Kisan Ghat Buses Parking
– Ramleela Ground Buses Parking

Commuters who are expected to travel to various important destinations, such as Vayu Bhavan, Sena Bhavan, Vigyan Bhavan, Nirman Bhavan, Parliament House, South Block, North Block, Central Secretariat, Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate, and others, are advised to allocate extra time for their journeys to avoid any potential delays along the route.

According to the advisory, there will be congestion on Delhi Metro routes, especially on the Yellow and Violet lines. However, a large number of passengers are expected to board/deboard at the following stations.

About ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh-Amrit Kalash Yatra’ campaign
A huge campaign ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh- Maati Ko Naman Veeron ka Vandan’ is a unified celebration that pays tribute to India’s soil and the valor of its people, according to sources. The campaign has garnered widespread participation, with over 7,000 blocks from 766 districts across the nation actively involved in the initiative. This significant programme will be organised with the aim of laying an inspiring foundation for the future by consolidating the unbroken legacy of the bravery of the immortal martyrs.

As a tribute to pay respect to freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country, “Meri Maati Mera Desh”, a nationwide campaign was launched on August 9, 2023. This campaign was celebrated in two phases, involving Shilaphalakams for freedom fighters and security forces, as well as initiatives like Panch Pran Pledge, Vasudha Vandan, and Veeron ka Vandan, all of which honored the sacrifices of the nation’s Bravehearts.

The finale of the Amrit Kalash Yatra, held under the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, will be celebrated in Delhi on October 31. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the final event of the campaign in the national capital on October 31.
