Mughal history removed from syllabus of UP students, Yogi government removed chapters from 12th books

UP Government: The Mughal chapter has been removed from the history book to be studied in UP in class 12th. Apart from this, the rise of Islam, clash of cultures, industrial revolution lessons were removed from the 11th book.

The Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh has made major changes in the syllabus of the UP Board and CBSE Board for the academic session 2023-24. In schools, students will no longer be taught about the history of the Mughals. The UP government has removed the chapter of the ruler and the Mughal court from the history book ‘Some topics of Indian history II’. Apart from this, the lessons of Rise of Islam, Clash of Cultures, Industrial Revolution, Beginning of Time have been removed from the 11th book.

Let us tell you that this decision of the UP government is being implemented from the academic session 2023-24. Apart from the history book, this change has been seen in other subjects as well. First of all let’s talk about the 12th syllabus. The history of Mughals has been removed in the history book of class 12th.

Earlier, in the history book of class 12th, there were chapters ranging from ‘Some topics of Indian history-II’ to rulers and the Mughal court, which you will not see now. Along with this, while making changes in the syllabus of class 11th, the chapters on the rise of Islam, industrial revolution, clash of cultures and the beginning of time have also been removed from the history book.

Along with this, changes have also been seen in the civics book. At the same time, the chapter on the rise of mass movements and the period of dominance of one party was also removed from the book of politics in independent India. Apart from this, the lessons of Democracy and Diversity, People’s Struggle and Movement, Challenges of Democracy were removed from the book of 10th Democratic Politics 2.

What did the Deputy CM say on the removal of history chapters

On the other hand, regarding the removal of history chapters from the syllabus of the students, the Deputy CM of UP said that this step should not be linked to elections. There is a need to change the way our children are taught about history. The new curriculum will change the outlook of the children. Today the politics of appeasement, casteism, familyism has come to an end, due to which the nation is benefiting.
