Mukhtar Ansari Death: Son Alleges Slow Poisoning, Political Leaders Demand Investigation

The demise of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari has stirred controversy, with his son, Umar Ansari, alleging foul play and demanding justice. Mukhtar Ansari, a prominent figure in Uttar Pradesh politics, passed away due to a cardiac arrest while in custody at a hospital in Banda.

Mukhtar Ansari Death: Son Alleges Slow Poisoning

Umar Ansari claims that his father was subjected to slow poisoning, pointing to an incident on March 19 when he alleges Mukhtar Ansari was poisoned during dinner. Despite efforts for treatment, Mukhtar Ansari’s health deteriorated rapidly, leading to his demise. The family vows to pursue legal action, expressing their lack of trust in the administration’s handling of the situation.

Following the death, various political leaders have expressed condolences and raised concerns over the circumstances. Asaduddin Owaisi, chief of AIMIM, criticized the government’s alleged negligence towards Mukhtar Ansari’s health after serious allegations were made. Samajwadi Party leader Ameeque Jamei and Congress leader Surendra Rajput demand a thorough investigation into the incident, questioning the adequacy of medical care provided to Ansari.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and former Bihar MP Pappu Yadav have called for constitutional institutions to intervene, terming Ansari’s death as “institutional murder.” They demand a court-monitored probe to ensure justice and uphold the integrity of the constitutional system.

The situation has prompted authorities to impose Section 144 across Uttar Pradesh, aiming to prevent any potential unrest. Additional security measures have been taken in districts with Ansari’s influence, including Banda, Mau, Ghazipur, and Varanasi. The deployment of police forces, including the Central Reserve Police Force, underscores the sensitivity of the situation.
