Mumbai: A shocking case has come to light from Govandi in Mumbai. An 18-year-old man was allegedly killed by his four friends, two of whom were minors, in Govandi last week over a dispute over sharing a food bill of Rs 10,000, a police official said. The two accused, aged 19 and 22, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested from Gujarat, while the minor boys surrendered before the police and were later taken into custody, he said.

According to a Shivaji Nagar police officer, the victim had organized a birthday party at a dhaba on May 31 and the food bill came to around Rs 10,000. There was a dispute between the victim and his friends over sharing the bill, but he settled the matter by paying from his pocket, he said.

Later, the four accused organized another birthday party and invited their friend to the event. After feeding him cake, they attacked him several times with sharp weapons, which led to his death, the officer said.

The minor boys were sent to a juvenile home, while the other two accused were arrested under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 302 (murder), the official said.
