Mumbai: In yet another bizarre incident, a man from Mumbai shared his grim experience on Christmas eve after he discovered an unexpected and disgusting surprise in his food that he ordered online from the iconic Leopold Cafe via Swiggy. He claimed that a dish he ordered from the famous Leopold Cafe through Swiggy contained a half-cooked small strip of tablets.
An X user Ujwal Puri shared images and video of the food and wrote, “My Mumbai Christmas Surprise ordered food from Swiggy from Leopold Colaba got this half cooked medicine in my food,” he also tagged Swiggy. Company swiftly responded to this tweet and expressed disappointment, saying that they ‘expect better from their restaurant partners’.

Swiggy reacts
The customer mentioned about ordering the food online via Swiggy and asked the delivery app to look into the issue while reporting concerns about the quality of food packed at Mumbai’s well-known eatery located in Colaba.
Responding to the tweet, Swiggy noted the blunder and promised him of looking into the matter. “We expect better from our restaurant partners, Ujwal. Do allow us a moment while we look into this,” they said in a reply.
The images showed a two-tablet strip placed inside the bowl next to order — Chicken in Oyster Sauce. Of the two tablet was already consumed and other existed.

Narrating his ordeal, Puri also posted some images of the meal highlighting how he received a medicine strip (Ibuprofen Paracetamol Tablet) in his food container. On X, he captioned the post to read, “My Mumbai Christmas Surprise ordered food from Swiggy from Leopold Colaba got this half cooked medicine in my food.”
In recent times, there have been several cases where customers experienced unusual things in their food. Just this month, a Bengaluru resident found a live snail in a salad he ordered from a restaurant chain through Swiggy. Similarly, customers in various cities have reported finding cockroaches and lizards in food ordered by their restaurants.
