A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable, identified as Mukesh Khetariya, reportedly took his own life using his service rifle AK-47 in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) near Jio Garden on Saturday. The late 30s constable from Gujarat, specifically Amreli district, was alone in the security cabin during the morning hours when the incident occurred.
According to sources, the constable took this extreme step when he was alone in the security cabin on Saturday morning. Initial investigations suggest that family issues might have triggered the incident.Preliminary findings indicate that the constable placed the gun muzzle under his chin and pulled the trigger, resulting in a fatal gunshot wound to his head. Colleagues of the deceased constable are expected to provide statements as part of the ongoing investigation.

The body of the deceased was transported to Sion Hospital, and his family has been notified. Based on initial information, an Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered, and further investigations are underway, according to the official statement.
Similar Incident in Chhattisgarh
This incident echoes a similar tragedy that occurred in Chhattisgarh in February, where a CISF jawan shot himself dead with his service weapon. The 37-year-old constable, Binu M, associated with CRPF’s 85th Battalion, was found in his barrack in the battalion headquarters, having shot himself with his service rifle. The colleagues discovered him upon hearing the gunshot, marking another somber episode within the security forces.
