Murder over burger bite in Pakistan: 17-year-old boy kills friend after eating his girlfriend’s burger

Karachi/Pakistan: In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded in Karachi, a young man reportedly killed his friend over a dispute involving a burger intended for his girlfriend. The accused, Daniyal, son of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nazir Ahmed Mirbahar, allegedly turned hostile when his friend, Ali Keerio, purportedly ate a portion of the burger intended for Daniyal’s girlfriend, Shazia. The incident occurred in Karachi’s Defence Phase 5 area on February 8.

The conflict quickly escalated, resulting in Daniel shooting Kirio, the son of a session judge, with the guard’s rifle. Kirio succumbed to his injuries while under hospital care. Following the incident, police officers conducted a thorough investigation, resulting in Daniel being held responsible for the crime.

The investigation revealed that Daniyal had invited Shazia to his residence, where Keerio and his brother, Ahmer, were also present. The accused had ordered two burgers for himself and Shazia but a dispute arose when Keerio allegedly consumed a portion of one of the burgers, triggering a furious reaction from Daniyal.

The authorities have submitted a detailed report of their findings to senior officials, and Daniyal is currently detained, awaiting trial in court. This incident has captured public attention due to the unusual circumstances surrounding the murder and the prominent positions held by both the victims and the accused’s families within the community.
