Nagpur: A shocking incident came to fore from Nagpur, Maharashtra where a 15-year-old girl, who was allegedly sexually assaulted in Nagpur city, gave birth to a baby girl and killed the newborn after watching a YouTube video. The police gave this information on Sunday. A police officer said that the girl was sexually assaulted by a person whom she had come to know through social media. “She hid her pregnancy from her mother by saying that she had some health problems,” the officer said.
The girl, a resident of Ambajhari area, got the idea of home delivery to maintain privacy and started watching YouTube videos. The officer said, “On March 2, she gave birth to a baby girl in her house and immediately strangulated the newborn to death. He hid the body in a box in his house.”
When her mother returned home, she asked the girl about her health condition. He said, “The girl narrated the ordeal to her mother, after which she was taken to the hospital. The body of the newborn has been sent for postmortem.
A case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, he said. The officer said that after getting the postmortem report, the charge of murder will be made.
