New Delhi: On Tuesday afternoon, a minor fire broke out on the second floor of North Block. After receiving information about this incident, fire tenders and local police reached on the spot. However, no casualty or major damage was reported in the incident

Official said that the blaze was controlled with the help of fire tenders. The sources stated that the fire originated in a room on the second floor of the North Block but was promptly extinguished.

The building houses the Ministries of Home Affairs and Personnel. At the time of the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah was not present in the building. According to sources, no injuries were reported, and the fire was swiftly brought under control with the assistance of fire tenders.

As per the sources, however, several high-ranking officials were in attendance when the fire occurred. Significantly, the North Block situated in the high-security Raisina Hills houses the Ministries of Home Affairs and Personnel.
