The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a significant breakthrough in the case of the brutal murder of RSS leader Srinivasan in Palakkad, Kerala, on April 16, 2022.
Arrest of Shafeekh: Shafeekh, a crucial absconding member of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI), has been apprehended by the NIA Absconder Tracking Team in Kollam district. He was identified as a participant in the targeted killing of Srinivasan and has been taken into custody for his involvement in the crime.
Conspiracy Unraveled
The investigation has identified a total of 71 individuals involved in the conspiracy behind Srinivasan’s murder. The NIA has already filed two chargesheets on March 17, 2023, and November 6, 2023. Notably, Abdul Naser, one of the accused, passed away on January 2, 2023, while two other absconders, Saheer K V and Jaffar Bheemantavida, were arrested on October 19, 2023, and February 12, 2024, respectively.
Shafeekh’s Role
Hailing from Malappuram district, Shafeekh was actively involved in the machinery and hit squads of the PFI, responsible for orchestrating Srinivasan’s murder. According to NIA investigations, he provided shelter to Ashraf K P, who, acting on PFI leadership directives, conspired with other members to execute the heinous crime. Ashraf also conducted reconnaissance of potential targets for elimination.
The arrest of Shafeekh marks a significant development in the pursuit of justice for the tragic murder of RSS leader Srinivasan. The NIA continues its relentless efforts to bring all perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.
