West Bengal: On Sunday, an official said that a priest was arrested from Darjeeling district of West Bengal for allegedly duping a woman from Nagaland's Dimapur by convincing her to buy a 'mystery box' worth Rs 3.5 crore that he said would bring her fortune.
In a significant development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids at seven locations in West Bengal, including at the residences of several Trinamool Congress leaders. The operation is part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process of teachers through the School Service Commission (SSC).
While narrating about the incident, officials said that Jadav was outside his house when he was shot after which he was taken to the Bhatapara State General Hospital. Officials added that he was then shifted to a private hospital where he succumbed to his severe injuries.
