In a sudden turn of events ahead of Lok Sabha Elections, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Satyan Chowdhury was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in West Bengal’s Baharampur on Sunday. Chowdhury, the party’s general secretary for Murshidabad, was attacked by a group of persons on bikes who opened fire at close range.

West Bengal: Police said that at least three workers were dead and over 30 people injured after the chimney of a brick kiln collapsed on them in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The tragic event unfolded on Wednesday evening at Dhaltitah village in Basirhat while the brick kiln was operational.
The accident unfolded at around 12:08 on Wednesday when a large metal water tank fell on waiting passengers on the combined platforms 2 and 3 at Bardhaman station, the ER official said. The train movement through platforms 1, 2 and 3 at the station has been suspended, he added.

While narrating about the incident, officials said that Jadav was outside his house when he was shot after which he was taken to the Bhatapara State General Hospital. Officials added that he was then shifted to a private hospital where he succumbed to his severe injuries.
