Parag Desai, Wagh Bakri director dies due to brain hemorrhage at 49 in Ahmedabad

Mumbai: Parag Desai, the executive director and owner of the country's famous company Wagh Bakri Chai brand has passed away. Parag Desai was only 49 years old. He is survived by wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha. Desai suffered a brain hemorrhage after a fall during his morning walk in a park last week.

Mumbai: Parag Desai, the executive director and owner of the country’s famous company Wagh Bakri Chai brand has passed away. Parag Desai was only 49 years old. He is survived by wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha. Desai suffered a brain hemorrhage after a fall during his morning walk in a park last week.

In an Instagram, The company shared a post,“With profound grief, we regret to inform the sad demise of our beloved Parag Desai”. Parag Desai was hospitalized for a few days. He was on ventilator for a week. Last week he went for a morning walk where he collapsed after suffering a brain haemorrhage. After which he was admitted.

Parag Desai died in a private hospital in Ahmedabad on October 22 after being on ventilator for seven days. Parag Desai was the son of Rasesh Desai, Managing Director of Tiger Goat Chai Group. Parag Desai was also one of the 6 group of directors of Wagh Bakri Chai Company. Parag Desai was on the post of Executive Director in the company.

Parag Desai did his MBA from Long Island University, USA. He also worked as Marketing, Sales and Export Department for Tiger Goat. Apart from this he was also a tea tester expert. Parag Desai was also part of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) among other bodies. The distribution of tea is about 50 million kg. The company is present in 24 Indian states and exports to around 60 countries.

Parag Desai joined the business in 1995, when the company was worth less than Rs 100 crore. Wagh Bakri Chai Group is famous for its premium chai. This is a Gujarat based company. The company has been in existence since 1892. The turnover of the company is more than 2,000 crore rupees.
