Pawan Kalyan Files Nomination from Pithapuram Constituency for Andhra Assembly Elections

Andhra Assembly Elections : In a strategic move amid the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh, actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan, leading Janasena, has thrown his hat into the electoral ring once again. Marking a significant development in the state’s political scenario, Kalyan has filed his nomination from the Pithapuram constituency for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections in 2024.

Janasena’s Strategic Move: A New Alliance Emerges

Amidst the backdrop of shifting political alliances, Janasena, under the leadership of Pawan Kalyan, recently forged ties with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This strategic move, in collaboration with Chandra Babu Naidu’s TDP, sets the stage for a formidable challenge to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP dominance in Andhra Pradesh.

Accompanied by local party leaders, Kalyan submitted his nomination papers for the Pithapuram assembly seat, signaling a bold step in his political journey.

Political Heavyweights Enter the Fray

The electoral arena witnessed the entry of seasoned politicians as well. Former Union ministers MM Pallam Raju and JD Seelam threw their hats into the ring, albeit for the Lok Sabha elections. Raju filed his nomination from the Kakinada Lok Sabha seat, while Seelam chose the Bapatla Lok Sabha constituency as his battleground.

Meanwhile, senior YSRCP leader V Vijayasai Reddy also entered the electoral fray, filing his nomination for the Nellore Lok Sabha seat.

Countdown to Election Day

With 111 nominations filed for the Lok Sabha elections and 630 for the assembly polls, the stage is set for a high-stakes electoral battle in Andhra Pradesh. Scheduled to be held simultaneously on May 13, the elections will determine the composition of the 175-member assembly and the allocation of the state’s 25 Lok Sabha seats. All eyes are now on June 4, the day of reckoning when the votes will be counted, shaping the future trajectory of Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.
