In a bid to bolster support for BJP-led NDA candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kerala’s Pathanamthitta today, March 15. Arriving around 10:30 am, PM Modi will address a public meeting expected to draw a crowd of approximately one lakh people. The event will be attended by key BJP leaders including state chief K Surendran, Prakash Javadekar, George Kurian, and Pathanamthitta district President V A Sooraj.
Among the attendees will be NDA’s Lok Sabha candidates V Muraleedharan (Attingal), Anil K Antony (Pathanamthitta), Sobha Surendran (Alappuzha), and Baiju Kalasala (Mavelikkara). Additionally, Padmaja Venugopal, who recently switched allegiance from Congress to BJP, along with state and local party leaders, will be present.
Security measures have been tightened with a ban on drones and similar devices within a 3 km radius of the Municipal Stadium and Pramadam Indoor Stadium.
Change of Plans
Initially, PM Modi was slated to visit Pathanamthitta on March 17 and Palakkad on March 15. However, the schedule was revised, and he will now visit Palakkad on March 19, potentially for a roadshow.
This marks PM Modi’s fourth and fifth visits to Kerala within three months, as announced by the official social media pages of BJP’s Palakkad and Pathanamthitta district committees.
