New Delhi: On Saturday, The Enforcement Directorate is conducting raids on the premises of Delhi AAP MLA, Gulab Singh Yadav. Singh is an MLA from the national capital’s Matiala Assembly constituency. He is in-charge of Gujarat unit of the party.

The party said that the ED team raided his residence at around 3 am on Saturday. The development comes amid the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, who has been sent to Enforcement Directorate custody till March 28 in liquor policy case.

However, the party added that it does not know under which case the raid is being conducted. After the raids being carried out on the premises of the AAP MLA, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said India is on the path of dictatorship and that the BJP is busy putting the entire Opposition in jail.

In a statement, Saurabh Bharadwaj said,”People not only in India but across the world have come to know that the BJP government is busy putting the entire Opposition in jail. This country is following the path of Russia…This has been seen in Bangladesh, Pakistan, North Korea and now India is on the same path. The largest democracy in the world is now on the path of dictatorship where the basic rights of people will be ended, where opposition will be stopped… Our top 4 leaders are in jail under false cases. We are contesting in Gujarat, and the party’s Gujarat in charge, Gulab Singh Yadav, is being raided today. I am confident that in the time to come, AAP leaders and other opposition leaders will be raided so that the Opposition is scared into silence.”

In 2016, Delhi Police arrested MLA Gulab Singh Yadav in a case of extortion. This arrest was made when two property dealers accused Gulab Singh Yadav’s associates of extorting money from them. After this, a non-bailable warrant was issued for his arrest for not joining the investigation of the case. Delhi Police has also claimed to have evidence against him.
