Punjab: On Friday, an official said that Gurpreet Singh Gopi, Aam Aadmi Party worker was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Tarn Taran, Punjab. After receiving information about this incident, police reached on the spot.
According to the information, the incident took place at the Goindwal Sahib railway crossing. After the incident, on social media,Videos showed Singh in a car surrounded by locals and police officials.
A Punjab senior police officer said that Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Chohla was going to Kapurthala district for a court matter in his car, when he was shot dead.
He aaded that as soon as Singh reached the railway crossing between Fatehabad and Goindwal Sahib, the attackers who were following him opened fire indiscriminately on him and fled from the spot, according to the report.
According to his family members, Gopi Chola was headed to Sultanpur Lodhi court for a hearing when the incident occurred.Received information about the incident, Police reached the spot as soon as possible. Police said that multiple teams were formed to nab the assailants.
