Punjab BJP SC morcha general secretary shot at outside his home in Amritsar; Face injured

Amritsar: A video has surfaced of the person who shot Balwinder Gill, General Secretary of State BJP SC Morcha living in Jandiala area. The incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed outside the neighbour’s house. At present, the identity of the accused has not been ascertained.

On the other hand, the health of the BJP leader is also said to be improving in the hospital. After regaining consciousness, Balwinder Gill will be able to inform the police about the attack on him.

Police is inquiring
On the other hand, the police is interrogating the family members, friends and other close relatives of Balwinder Singh. It is being ascertained with whom Balwinder Gill was having enmity with for a few days. SP Jugraj Singh said that two people were detained and interrogated, but were later released.

Accused was masked
Superintendent of Police Jugraj Singh said an unidentified assailant, who had his face covered, barged into Gill’s residence on Sunday night and fired at the BJP leader. Balwinder Gill was hit by a bullet in his jaw and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Singh said Gill was later shifted to a private hospital in Amritsar as his condition deteriorated.

The SP said the assailant also had an accomplice who was waiting outside the BJP leader’s residence. Several police teams are working on the case and they have collected vital leads from the spot, he said.
