Chandigarh: A young man’s attempt to fool officials by impersonating his girlfriend at an examination center in Punjab’s Faridkot turned out to be a farce.
A youth recognised as Angrez Singh was arrested for trying to copy his girlfriend Paramjit Kaur in the Multipurpose Health Worker exam. The examination conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was held on January 7 at DAV Public School, Kotkapura. Angrez Singh, a native of Fazilka, had dressed himself in women’s clothes and used a fake identity card in a failed attempt to deceive the examiners.
Angrez Singh tried hard to imitate his girlfriend’s look by wearing red bangles, bindi, lipstick and women’s suits. He used fake voter and Aadhaar cards in an attempt to confirm his false identity. However, his plan was exposed when his fingerprints did not match the fingerprints recorded for the actual candidate on the biometric verification device.
Everything went well in the first hour of the examination but investigators grew suspicious after noticing something wrong with the attire later.
As a direct result of Singh’s impersonation attempt, Paramjit Kaur’s application was rejected by the examination administration. Furthermore, legal action has been initiated against Angrez Singh by holding him responsible for his fraudulent activities.
The incident, while serious in its implications, has been compared to a comedy show due to the dramatic nature of Singh’s failed impersonation. The dramatic revelation of his identity has triggered a flurry of comment and amusement among the public.
