Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in Uttar Pradesh (UP) has undergone modifications, reducing its duration by four days. The decision, attributed to various factors, including political considerations and the upcoming UP board examinations, reflects a strategic adjustment in the yatra’s itinerary.
The yatra’s revised schedule in UP is influenced by multiple factors. Sources suggest political dynamics, particularly the proximity between RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary and BJP, as a contributing factor. Notably, districts under Chaudhary’s influence were excluded from the original route.
While political considerations play a role, the Congress cites the impending UP board examinations, scheduled to commence on February 22, as a pivotal factor. With the interests of students in mind, the yatra’s duration has been curtailed.
Rahul Gandhi’s yatra in UP will span from February 16 to February 21, with significant adjustments to the route. The revised path excludes several districts, including Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Rampur, and others. Previously slated to conclude on February 26, the yatra will now wrap up earlier.
The altered route in UP will commence from Varanasi on February 16, traversing through Bhadohi, Prayagraj, Amethi, Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Unnao, Kanpur, Hamirpur, and Jhansi before exiting to Madhya Pradesh on February 21.
In a parallel development, the yatra resumed in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district after a brief hiatus. Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by prominent Congress leaders, recommenced the journey, aimed at bolstering party morale following recent electoral setbacks.
The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, a mass outreach program, holds significance for Congress workers, aiming to reinvigorate the party’s base. Its resumption in Chhattisgarh signals a renewed focus on grassroots engagement and organizational revitalization.
