Hyderabad: In a daring daylight robbery, three men armed with a knife looted a jewellery shop in Hyderabad’s Akbarbagh area. The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred around 1:30 pm on Wednesday, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The CCTV footage reveals the sequence of events: initially, a man wearing a cap and a mask enters the shop, seemingly browsing the jewellery. Suddenly, another assailant, with his face obscured by cloth, storms in and violently attacks the shopkeeper with a knife, forcing him to the ground.
As chaos ensues, a third individual, wearing a helmet, joins in, swiftly collecting jewellery items into a bag. Meanwhile, the first person to enter the shop appears to be an accomplice, passive yet complicit in the unfolding crime.
The shopkeeper sustained knife-stab injuries during the ordeal and has been hospitalized for treatment. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators, who managed to flee the scene.
Senior police officials have assured swift action, noting the meticulous planning by the robbers to exploit minimal movement around the shop. Despite Hyderabad’s reputation for extensive CCTV coverage, the brazen nature of the robbery underscores the need for continued vigilance and security measures.
“We are confident of nabbing the thieves at the earliest,” stated Prakash Reddy, the Station House Officer of the Chaderghat police station, emphasizing the commitment to apprehend the culprits and ensure public safety.
