Security beefed up across Amritsar after khalistan slogans raised at Golden Temple

Amritsar: On the 39th anniversary of Operation Blue Star, the issue of raising Khalistani slogans in the Golden Temple has come to the fore. Khalistan slogans were raised at Sri Akal Takht in Sri Harmandir Sahib and posters of Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale were displayed. In a message issued to the Sikh community, Shri Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh called upon the Sikh community to unite under the leadership of Shri Akal Takht.

The police and administration are on alert for such an incident in the Golden Temple. Sources say that the government is keeping a close watch on the developments.

Today is the 39th anniversary of Operation Blue Star. On this day in 1984, Khalistani preacher Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his supporters were killed by the army. These people conspired to terrorize the country with weapons in the Golden Temple. On the orders of the then PM Indira Gandhi, the army carried out a major operation in Amritsar, this operation was carried out in the dark of night, hence it was named Operation Blue Star.

Today, on the 39th anniversary of this operation, nefarious acts have once again come to the fore in the Golden Temple. According to the information, Khalistani slogans have been raised in the Golden Temple. Along with this, posters of Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale were shown. On this occasion, Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Giani Harpreet Singh while addressing the Sikh community said that our community and religious organizations are divided at this time, it is the need of the hour to unite them under the leadership of Shri Akal Takht.

Differences between Akali parties and Sikh organizations should be removed

He said that it is necessary for unity that Sikh organizations and Akali parties have to resolve their differences. The Jathedar announced the beginning of the struggle against the governments by uniting the scattered forces. The Jathedar has said that justice cannot be expected from the governments. Sikhs will have to start fighting for justice on their own by becoming strong politically and economically.

Giani Harpreet Singh said that the wounds given by the government will never be forgotten, these wounds are very deep and these wounds will never heal. It is not right to have any expectation from the governments. There are many examples in our history where the gurus have said that it is foolish to rule. He said that it is not that our power is less but our power is scattered. After 1984 we come, bow and go but today we need to get away from differences.

On the other hand, Akali Dal Amritsar chief Simranjit Singh Mann said that the Sikh Panth should prepare for the SGPC elections and oust the wrong-doers from the SGPC leadership. Jathedar Dhyan Singh Mand of Sarbat Khalsa said that Sikh opponents have to be identified.

On the anniversary of Operation Blue Star in Amritsar, elaborate security arrangements have been made by the police around Sri Harmandir Sahib. Four companies of paramilitary force and a large number of police forces have been deployed here.
