Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh : Several coaches of the Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Hirakud Express train suffered damage when a speeding car crashed into it after breaking through a closed railway crossing. The incident occurred in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday night, narrowly avoiding a major railway accident.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the car was traveling at a high speed when it crashed through the railway gate and collided with the passing Hirakud Express train. The impact of the collision resulted in significant damage to multiple coaches of the train.
Additionally, another railway incident occurred in the vicinity, as the engine of a goods train belonging to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation caught fire around 7 pm. This incident took place approximately half a kilometer away from Semarkhedi railway station, prompting immediate notification of railway officials. Although the cause of the fire remains unclear, railway officer Naval Aggarwal confirmed that the fire has been extinguished. Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
Despite the alarming incidents, prompt response from railway authorities prevented any major casualties or further escalation of the situation.
