Hyderabad: In yet another stabbing incident, An engineering student was killed by stab wounds and his sister injured after a youth attacked her with a knife over an alleged affair with her. Police gave this information on Sunday. A senior police officer said the assailant barged into the house of the woman, who was taking a homeopathy course, and attacked her and her brother with a knife.
The accused forcefully entered into a house in RTC Colony of LB Nagar and attacked Prithvi and his sister Sanghavi with a knife. According to police, the jilted lover, who was involved in an alleged love affair with the sister of the deceased, barged into their house and attacked the siblings with a knife. During investigation Telangana police came to know that he has also killed his father a few years ago during an argument over his ambition to pursue a career in films.
The officer said that her (woman’s) brother died in the knife attack, while he has been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition. Some local residents caught hold of the youth and alerted the police, he said. The officer said that he was taken into custody.
Based on preliminary investigation, another official said the woman had been avoiding the accused for some time and he went to her house today and allegedly got into an argument with her for being neglected in the recent past. The youth picked up a knife from the kitchen, following which the panic-stricken woman ran into a room screaming and her brother, who was in another room, came to her rescue.
The youth attacked the man with a knife, which resulted in his death. Later the woman was also attacked and severely injured by her spurned boyfriend. Police said that soon, local residents barged into the house and caught the assailant. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
