Stage Collapses in Gaya, Bihar as ex-MP Ali Anwar Ansari criticises Ayodhya ‘Pran Pratishtha’ event

Bihar/Gaya: In a sudden turn of events in Bihar’s Gaya district, a stage collapsed during a speech by a JD(U) leader at a condolence meeting marking the 51st death anniversary of freedom fighter Abdul Qayyum Ansari. The event unfolded in Dihuri village of Atari block. Leaders from various political backgrounds were present to pay their respects to Abdul Qayyum Ansari.

JD(U) leader raised questions on Ram Temple’s sanctity
Organisers had set up a big stage for the Mahasangan event. Former MP Ali Anwar was also one of the attendees but the incident occurred when JD(U)’s block spokesperson Ramdev Kevat began addressing the audience on the stage. During his speech, Kevat raised questions about the sanctity of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, particularly focusing on the upcoming ‘Pran Pratishtha’ event scheduled for January 22.

Initially, the event was taking place smoothly, however, it collapsed when a speaker started criticising the date of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple.
Kevat questioned the timing of Ramlala’s consecration, suggesting that it might be a strategic move to garner votes. He raised concerns about why the consecration is not aligned with Ramchandra’s birthday. As soon as these remarks were made, the entire stage collapsed.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Ali Anwar and others injured
Several people present during the event were injured, including former Rajya Sabha MP Ali Anwar Ansari. Everything happened so quickly that the leaders present on the stage did not get any chance to escape. There were about seven to eight people present on the stage when this incident happened. Local leaders, including Atri MLA Ajay Yadav alias Ranjit Yadav, were also among the injured. Despite the sudden mishap, a second stage was promptly constructed and the program continued after the injured were offered medical aid.
