Tamil Nadu: On Tuesday, an official said that two people were killed in a collision between an Omni bus and a lorry near Paalpannai on the Trichy-Chennai highway on Monday night. After getting information about this incident local people reached on the spot and informed to the police.
According to the information, 10 others suffered injuries in this incident. The police said that the bus was travelling from Chennai to Kambam in Theni district. Passersby and rescue teams managed to rescue 10 passengers.
The Omni bus carrying 34 passengers collided from behind with a truck loaded with bricks, resulting in the instant death of the bus driver and an elderly woman. The injured are receiving treatment at Trichy Government Hospital, as confirmed by Police.
After the incident, Police have started investigation and are searching for the truck driver, who fled from the accident spot. The Police added that further investigation into the incident is underway.
