Hyderabad: An army personnel died in a hit-and-run case in Hyderabad on Monday, police said. The accident occurred on Outer Ring Road in Narsingi under the limits of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. He was allegedly hit by a mixer truck in Telangana’s Narsingi. The driver of the mixer truck has been arrested by police. A video of the body lying on the road and vehicles passing by it was widely circulated on social media.

Narsingi Inspector of Police G Hari Krishna Reddy, said that the Army personnel, recognised as Kunal, was struck by a ready mixer truck while standing on the road, and he died on the spot at around 2 pm on Monday.
Kunal, from the Langar Houz regiment, had taken a pass to visit the SBI Bank in Narsingi when the mixer truck hit him, police were quoted as saying by news agency ANI. The body has been shifted to Osmania Hospital for an autopsy.
A case has been registered under Section 304(2) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is on.
