The Char Dham Yatra will formally begin in Uttarakhand from today. Maa Ganga’s festive doli has left from its maternal home on Friday. The festival doli passing through various stages will reach its abode Gangotri on Saturday morning, after which the portals of Gangotri Dham will be opened for devotees to visit with duly chanting. The doors of Yamunotri Dham will be opened on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.
The doors of Gangotri will open at 12:13 in the afternoon and the doors of Yamunotri will open at 12:41. The process of opening the doors of Gangotri started on Friday. Under this, Maa Ganga ki Doli from Mukhba left for Gangotri Dham on Friday with the tunes of the army band. The villagers of Mukhba village became emotional during the farewell of Mother Ganga.
In the ‘Rishikesh to Chardham Yatra – 2023’ program organized in Rishikesh, Chief Minister Dhami welcomed the devotees by garlanding them and asked the deities of the Char Dhams- Baba Kedar, Badrivishal, Maa Gangotri and Maa Yamunotri for the Yatra like last year. Prayed for a grand and efficient completion.
He told that so far this year 16 lakh people have registered for the yatra and the government will ensure that the yatra of every devotee is smooth and 100% safe. The Chief Minister said, “We have full faith that this year’s Chardham Yatra will break all previous records. The state government is determined to ensure a safe Chardham Yatra.
