In a devastating incident in Bihar’s Rohtas district, a family of seven, including five children, lost their lives as their hut caught fire. Initial reports suggest a transformer short circuit sparked the fatal blaze. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed condolences for the bereaved families.

Tragic Fire Claims Seven Lives in Bihar


This happened on Tuesday afternoon in Ibrahimpur village, Nasriganj sub-division, Sasaram. Among those who passed away were Pushpa Devi (30) and her children: Kajal Kumari (4), Gudiya (2), and Bajrangi Kumar (6). Others included Kanti Kumari (6), Shivani (3), and Maya Devi (25), who were related to Pushpa.

Another person, Raju Devi, got hurt and is getting treated in a hospital.

Officials, like Bikramganj Sub-Divisional Magistrate Anil Basak, quickly responded. They’re still trying to figure out what exactly caused the fire. The bodies have been taken for examination.

The government promised to help the families of the victims. Villagers think a problem with an electric transformer nearby might have started the fire.

Transformer Short Circuit Suspected


The administration has pledged to provide adequate compensation to the families of the deceased. Villagers suspect a short circuit in an electric transformer near the hut as the probable cause of the fire.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed profound sadness over the tragedy, extending heartfelt condolences to the affected families through a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office.
