Tragic Incident in Agra: In a devastating incident on Tuesday evening, a truck driver, believed to be in an inebriated state, wreaked havoc on the national highway within Agra city limits. The rashly-driven truck slammed into about a dozen vehicles, resulting in the tragic loss of three lives. The driver attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by the police near Gurudwara Gura Ka Taal Crossing.
After the collision, the driver attempted to escape in his truck, prompting a chase by the police. He was eventually stopped, arrested, and is now undergoing a medical examination to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The incident occurred in an area under the Sikandra police station of Agra.
Eyewitnesses, including Neeraj Kumar, reported the horrifying sequence of events. Kumar mentioned, “A speeding truck struck my car from the back when I was moving towards Sikandra on Tuesday evening. When I turned, I found a crowd chasing the truck, but its driver did not stop and sped into other vehicles.”
The collision resulted in three fatalities, while the number of injured individuals is still being ascertained. Some injured parties sought medical attention independently, while others were hospitalized by the police. The deceased individuals were in the process of being identified at the time of the last report.
While it is strongly suspected that the truck driver was driving under the influence, the police are awaiting the results of the medical examination before commenting further on the possibility of intoxication during the accident. The initial collision occurred near a vegetable market, and the driver’s attempt to escape led to further chaos as he crashed into additional vehicles.
