Satara: In a tragic incident, Union Minister of state for social justice and empowerment Ramdas Athawale met with a car accident while traveling from Satara’s Wai towards Mumbai. The accident unfolded in Wai, located in Satara district of Maharashtra.

According to authorities, the car in which Athawale was traveling crashed into a container due to sudden braking. This collision resulted in damage to the front bumper of the car.

Samir Sheikh, Satara SP, confirmed that there were no injuries reported from the accident.

Athawale himself was miraculously escapes unhurt and continued his journey to Mumbai.

“My party does not have a single member in Lok Sabha. I am thinking of contesting from Shirdi or Solapur. I want to come to the Lok Sabha. I will discuss this with J P Nadda, Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and decide,” he said.

Athawale said on Sunday his Republican Party of India (A) is hopeful of getting two seats for Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra but won’t leave the NDA if that doesn’t happen.

Those who unversed, Athawale, whose party is a constituent in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), was addressing a press conference in Nagpur. The Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra, which elects 48 MPs, will be held in five phases between April 19 and May 20. Asked what his response would be if RPI(A) failed to get two seats to contest in the state, he sought to make a case for his outfit, saying its pan-India presence would benefit the BJP and NDA.
