Uttar Pradesh: On Sunday, an official said that a Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS). He was posted at the Indian Embassy in Moscow.
A Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent was identified as Satyendra Siwal. He is posted in the embassy since 2021. A native of Hapur, he worked as MTS (Multi-Tasking, Staff) in the Ministry of External Affairs.
The Anti-Terrorism Squad received a tip-off from its sources about a spy operating at the Indian Embassy in Moscow, according to an official statement. Acting on the information, UP ATS interrogated Siwal, who initially gave unsatisfactory answers.
However, he later confessed to spying and was arrested in Meerut. During the prime interrogation, Satyendra Siwal revealed that he used to bribe Indian government officials with money to extract information about the Indian Army and its day-to-day functioning.
Satyendra Siwal has also been accused of passing important and confidential information about the Indian Embassy, Defense Ministry and foreign affairs to ISI handlers.
