Uttarakhand: Uttarakhand Government Cabinet Minister Chandan Ram Das passed away on Wednesday. He was 65 years old. The cabinet minister was admitted to the hospital after his health deteriorated. He was admitted to Bageshwar district hospital. He was admitted in the ICU of the hospital. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over his death.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tweeted, “I am numbing the news of the casual demise of my senior colleague Mr. Chandan Ram Das ji in the cabinet. He demise is irreparable damage in the field of public service and politics. God Provide the power to bear this infinite trouble to the place and family and supporters in Sharekhan. Peace:”

Chandan Ram Das, who was the Cabinet Minister of Uttarakhand and BJP leader, his political career started 43 years ago. However, in 1997, the municipality won the first election from Bageshwar. He became an independence president of the municipality. Earlier, BJP was joined in 2006. Then Bhagat Singh Koshyari BJP was the Chief Minister of the state. After this, the first assembly elections won in 2007.
Since then, he was four consecutive Chief Minister. Chandan Ram Das became a legislator by winning victory in 2007, 2012, 2017 and 2022. In the last assembly elections, he defeated Congress candidate Balakrishna on Bageshwar assembly seat. Then he won the difference of 14,567. In this election, he got 19,225 votes to 33,792 and the opponent Congress candidate.
