Watch: On-duty CISF official pushes, slaps tourist over making Instagram reels at Taj Mahal

In a recent viral video, an altercation broke out between a CISF jawan and a tourist at the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The dispute reportedly started over filming a video within the premises of the monument. The video which has now gained attention on social media shows how a verbal spat between the duo leads to a scuffle.

Agra: In a recent viral video, an altercation broke out between a CISF jawan and a tourist at the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The dispute reportedly started over filming a video within the premises of the monument. The video which has now gained attention on social media shows how a verbal spat between the duo leads to a scuffle.

The tourist was allegedly attempting to shoot a reel within the monument premises despite a ban there. According to sources, the on-duty CISF officer Ramesh Chand landed up in the fight as he had stopped the tourist and his friends from capturing the video. The jawan forcefully pushing and hitting the tourist to the extent that he fell down on the floor. A few other women were also visible in the video who were trying to calm the situation but to no avail.

As per a a police report, the incident unfolded at around 2 pm on Saturday when the visitors were trying to record a video near the ‘Mehmankhana,’ by violating the ban on videography enforced within the premises.

The matter escalated so much that the jawan came forward and slapped the woman and hit her with the umbrella he was holding. The crowded tourist area witnesses this distressing scene, which attracts the attention of the spectators.

During the interrogation, the officer said that the tourists became angry and resorted to physical violence after they were asked not to shoot the video.

Police are examining the CCTV footage of the area as well as the viral video to find out the reason behind the fight. The matter is currently being investigated and appropriate action has been assured as per the findings of the investigation.

The Taj Mahal a UNESCO World Heritage Site and thereby authorities have urged visitors to stern adhere to the guidelines and regulations in place.
