4.7 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan, center was 285KM away from Faizabad

Earthquake tremors have been felt in Afghanistan. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), a 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in the capital Kabul at 1:40 am on March 7, which was at a depth of 136 km. Earlier, on March 2, an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred in the Faizabad region of Afghanistan at 2:35 pm.

Kabul: Earthquake tremors were felt in Afghanistan at 07:06 am on Thursday. The National Center for Seismology reported that the intensity of the earthquake was 4.7 on the Richter scale, whose epicenter was 285 km east-northeast of Faizabad, Afghanistan. There is no news of loss of life or property in this. Earthquake tremors have been felt in Afghanistan for the third time in the month of March. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), a 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in the capital Kabul at 1:40 am on March 7, which was at a depth of 136 km. Earlier, on March 2, an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred in the Faizabad region of Afghanistan at 2:35 pm.

The intensity of the earthquake here was 7.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was Gaziantep in southern Turkey. Shortly after the first devastating tremor, there was another earthquake of magnitude 6.4.

Earthquake tremors are felt in India too

Earthquake tremors are also felt in the Himalayan state of India, Uttarakhand. Tremors were felt in Uttarkashi only yesterday. On feeling the tremors at 10.7 in the morning, people came out of their houses out of fear. On March 4, three tremors of earthquake were felt one after the other late night in Uttarkashi. The first shock was felt at 12:40, the second at 12:45 and the third at 01:01. During this, there was no loss of life or property. Earthquake tremors were felt in the Kutch district of Gujarat at 3:42 am on March 8. Its intensity was measured at 3.3 on the Richter scale. According to Gandhinagar-based Seismological Research Institute, the epicenter of the earthquake was about 10 km north-northeast of Bhachau town in Kutch district. An earthquake of 3.8 magnitude occurred in Kutch on February 27 this year as well.
