In a significant administrative shake-up in Uttarakhand, four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officials and seven Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officials were transferred on Saturday against the backdrop of the recent Haldwani violence. This reshuffle is part of the state government’s efforts to streamline governance and address emerging challenges.

The latest transfers include the appointment of Mahavir Singh Chauhan, a PCS officer, as the Additional Secretary Disaster Management, and Abhishek Tripathi assuming the role of Chief Development Officer Tehri Garhwal. Jai Bharat Singh has taken charge as the Additional District Magistrate, Dehradun, while Chandra Singh Imlal now serves as Additional Commissioner Sugarcane Kashipur.

Transfers of IAS, PCS Officials Amid Haldwani Violence. Other notable appointments include Vivek Prakash as the Additional District Magistrate Chamoli, Pankaj Upadhyay as Additional District Magistrate Udham Singh Nagar, and Ravindra Kumar as Deputy Collector Udham Singh Nagar. Additionally, ISS officer Anand Vardhan has been entrusted with the responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary Personnel, RK Sudhanshu as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Shailesh Bagauli as Secretary Home and Karga. Sachin Kurve has been assigned the role of Secretary Revenue.

This restructuring follows a similar move on January 30, where the Uttarakhand government had transferred six IAS and twelve PCS officers. The continued focus on administrative adjustments reflects the state’s commitment to effective governance and responsiveness to evolving situations, particularly in the aftermath of the Haldwani incident.
