Sheopur: One of the four cubs born to Namibian female cheetah Siaya Akka Jwala has died in Kuno National Park (KNP) of Madhya Pradesh. Officials gave this information on Tuesday. A senior forest official said that our team is trying to ascertain the exact reason behind the death of the two-month-old female cub. Earlier, two cheetahs named Sasha and Uday, brought to India from South Africa, died in March and April.

It is being told that Jwala gave birth to 4 cubs in Kuno National Park. Since his birth, the number of cheetahs in the park had reached 23. Which has come down to 20 again.

Cheetahs were brought under Project Cheetah
Of these cheetahs, 8 were brought from Namibia in September. On September 17, PM Modi dropped him from Kuno National Park on his birthday. After this, 12 more cheetahs were brought from South Africa to Kuno National Park on 18 February.

On March 27, a female cheetah named Jwala gave birth to 4 cubs. Just two days before this, the female cheetah Sasha had died. After this, the leopards named Uday and Daksha had died. Now after the death of Jwala’s cub, this number has reached 4 in 2 months.

Cheetahs can be taken from Madhya Pradesh to Rajasthan
Project Cheetah has suffered a setback after the death of 4 cheetahs in two months in Kuno National Park. In such a situation, there is a discussion that these cheetahs can be shifted to Rajasthan. After these incidents, questions are being raised on the work process of the monitoring team of Kuno National Park.

Last month on April 2, a cheetah named Oban had strayed from Kuno National Park. After this cheetah went astray, the forest department team started searching for it. After about 5 days, Oban was rescued and brought to Kuno. This leopard was captured from the forest area near Bairad village bordering Shivpuri district.
