In a significant development, the Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU) detained over 270 aspirants in Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand, regarding an alleged paper leak of the Bihar Public Service Commission’s (BPSC) Teachers Recruitment Exam (TRE)-3. The arrests came after thorough searches conducted by EOU sleuths on March 14 and 15, uncovering a network supplying question papers to TRE-3 candidates from various parts of Bihar.
On the scheduled examination day, March 15, candidates were detained before reaching their respective exam centers at around 3 am. Subsequent interrogations of these candidates led to the apprehension of key members involved in orchestrating the paper leak, as stated by EOU officials.
Previously, the police had already apprehended five individuals suspected of masterminding the TRE-3 paper leak. During their arrests, authorities seized crucial evidence such as question papers, computers, laptops, printers, and pen drives.
Further investigations revealed that the accused had charged a significant fee from each candidate for providing answer sheets, indicating a well-organized operation behind the leak.
The BPSC conducted TRE-3 on March 15 for Primary Teachers and Middle School Teachers in offline mode. This incident follows a recent success for aspirants, with 96,823 candidates clearing the Teachers Recruitment Examination (TRE-2) conducted by the BPSC.
The ongoing investigation aims to unravel the extent of the paper leak scandal and hold all responsible parties accountable for their actions.
