BSP Candidate Leaves Home Due to Ideological Clash with Congress MLA Wife

Ahead of the upcoming general election, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Lok Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat constituency, Kankar Munjare, has departed from his home due to apparent “ideological differences” with his Congress MLA wife, Anubha Munjare. Munjare expressed the belief that individuals with conflicting ideologies should not cohabit during the electoral process.

Despite having stayed together during previous assembly elections, Munjare opted to reside separately from his wife during this campaign. He intends to return home after the polling day on April 19.

Munjare articulated his decision, stating, “If two persons following different ideologies live under one roof, people will think it is match-fixing,” underscoring the importance of maintaining distinct political identities.

Conversely, Anubha Munjare, who emerged victorious in the November 2023 assembly election as a Congress MLA, expressed dismay over her husband’s stance. Despite their longstanding marriage of 33 years, she conveyed her commitment to her party’s candidate for the Lok Sabha polls from Balaghat, Samrat Saraswat, and affirmed her refusal to denigrate her husband during the campaign.

The general election will unfold across seven phases, commencing on April 19 and culminating in the counting of votes for all 543 Lok Sabha seats on June 4.
