Uttarakhand/Rudraprayag: After heavy rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand’s Kedarnath and Badrinath, the weather improved on Thursday. After this, the yatra has been started at both the pilgrimages. However, a report said that two avalanches occurred between the Bhairav ​​and Kuber glaciers, three km from the Kedarnath temple on Wednesday evening.

The Yatra to Kedarnath was suspended on Wednesday (May 3) due to heavy snowfall and bad weather, according to sources. Rudraprayag SP had said that this decision has been taken after the warning of the Meteorological Department. While looking at the weather, the journey will be resumed from 11 am on Thursday. In this sequence, the journey to Kedarnath has been resumed on Thursday.

On the other hand, snowfall continues in Badrinath Dham as well, due to which the Chamoli District Police has to issue a warning to the pilgrims. Badrinath police station in-charge Kailash Chandra Bhatt said that only travelers with verified hotel or guesthouse bookings are advised to come to Badrinath. However the journey begins here.

Avalanche between Bhairav ​​and Kuber Glacier
On the other hand, a report said that an avalanche occurred on Wednesday evening between the Bhairav ​​and Kuber glaciers near the Kedarnath temple. Due to this the route was completely closed. The District Emergency Operation Center (DEOC) said teams are on the way to reopen the route.

Yatra to Kedarnath was affected due to heavy snowfall on Wednesday. It has been told that there was no casualty in this avalanche. Four local employees narrowly escaped in the incident. He was taken out by the SDRF team. Rudraprayag’s disaster management officer NK Rajwar said two consecutive avalanches hit near Lincholi (just 3 km from the Kedarnath temple) at around 4:55 pm.
