CRPF recruitment 2023: Notification announced for 1.3 lakh constable posts vacancies

New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday issued a notification regarding the recruitment of about 1.30 lakh posts of constables with 10 per cent reservation for Agniveers in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

New Delhi: On Thursday, The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification regarding the recruitment of about 1.30 lakh posts of constable with 10 percent reservation for Agniveers in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

The notification reads, “In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 18 of the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 (66 of 1949) and in supersession of the Central Reserve Police Force Group ‘C’ (General) Duty/Technical/Tradesmen) Cadre Recruitment Rules, 2010 In so far as they relate to the post of Constable (General Duty Cadre), excluding works done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government hereby makes the following CENTRAL RESERVE POLICE FORCE Rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Constable (General Duty) in the Group ‘C’ post, General Duty Cadre.

A total of 1,29,929 posts of Constable (General Duty) have been announced in the notification, including 4667 posts for women in General Central Service, Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, (Non-Ministerial Combatant).

The upper age limit will be relaxed up to five years for the candidates of the first batch of Ex-Agniveers. And the upper age limit will be relaxable up to three years for the candidates of Ex-Servicemen. It added that ex-firefighters would be exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

It further states that 10 percent vacancies for recruitment to the post of Constable (General Duty) will be reserved for ex-firemen.

Candidates should have matriculation or equivalent from a board or university recognized by Central Government or State Government or equivalent army qualification in case of Ex-Army personnel. They also have to fulfill the physical and medical criteria for recruitment to the posts of constables in CRPF.
