Tragedy struck Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district as a sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) lost his life, and a constable sustained injuries in a recent encounter with Maoists. The incident unfolded in the morning within the jurisdiction of the Jagargunda police station, where a dedicated team from the CRPF’s 165th battalion was actively involved in an anti-Maoist operation.
In a tragic incident reported from Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, a sub inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) lost his life, while a constable sustained injuries during an encounter with Maoists. The confrontation occurred in the morning under the jurisdiction of the Jagargunda police station, as a team from the CRPF’s 165th battalion was engaged in an anti-Maoist operation.
The operation, initiated around 7 am from Bedre camp towards Ursangal village, led to an exchange of fire between the security personnel and Maoists. In the course of the operation, Sub Inspector Sudhakar Reddy tragically lost his life, and Constable Ramu suffered bullet injuries.
Following the cessation of gunfire, four suspects were apprehended from the scene, and a joint team of security forces commenced a search in the surrounding area.
The injured constable, Ramu, is being promptly transferred to a hospital for necessary medical treatment, as confirmed by the official statement.
This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in the region, and authorities are actively conducting further investigations.
