The advisory emphasizes the deployment of special checking teams at major intersections and gathering points associated with Holi festivities. These teams, in conjunction with PCR vans and local police units, will actively patrol roads and strategic locations throughout Delhi to detect and penalize offenders engaging in drunken driving and red-light violations.
Additionally, stringent actions will be taken in accordance with the directives of a Supreme Court committee on road safety. Offenses such as drunken driving, red-light jumping, and dangerous driving may result in the immediate seizure and potential suspension of driving licenses for a minimum of three months. Furthermore, vehicle owners will be held accountable for unauthorized usage, underage driving, or involvement in stunts.
The public is urged to adhere to traffic regulations diligently, with specific emphasis on refraining from drinking and driving, observing speed limits, and respecting traffic signals. Furthermore, individuals are advised against engaging in reckless driving practices, allowing minors to operate vehicles, or performing stunts on two-wheelers.
