Delhi: Probe agency ED summons CM Arvind Kejriwal in Jal Board case

New Delhi: On Sunday, the Aam Aadmi Party said that the Probe Agency Enforcement Directorate has issued summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a money laundering probe linked to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Jal Board Board (DJB).

New Delhi: On Sunday, the Aam Aadmi Party said that the Probe Agency Enforcement Directorate has issued summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a money laundering probe linked to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Jal Board Board (DJB).

On Sunday, Delhi minister and Senior AAP Leader Atishi said the Enforcement Directorate has sent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal a fresh summons to join its probe in a “fake” case linked to the Delhi Jal Board.

At a press conference, she claimed ,”Nobody knows what this DJB (Delhi Jal Board) case is about. This seems to be a backup plan to arrest Kejriwal anyhow and stop him from campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls.”

Atishi said two summonses asking Kejriwal to appear before the federal agency next week were received hours after the Lok Sabha poll date announcement on Saturday. She added that one of them is related to the excise policy case and the other to the DJB .

On Saturday, The summons were issued, asking the Chief Minister to appear before it for questioning on March 18. This is the second case registered under the anti-money laundering law in which the 55-year-old politician, also the national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party AAP, has been called.

According to information, this is the second case registered under the anti-money laundering law in which Kejriwal has been called. He has been issue notice for questioning in the Delhi excise policy linked money laundering case too. Kejriwal has skipped eight summons in this case till now, terming them illegal.
