Delhi Police Action in Japanese Girl Viral Video: Delhi Police told that the video which went viral is from Paharganj police station area and this incident happened on the day of Holi. The victim was a Japanese tourist.
New Delhi: After the video of a Japanese girl allegedly being harassed by some boys during Holi celebrations went viral, Delhi Police has started action in this matter. On the basis of the video, the police have arrested 3 youths including a minor on the charges of the incident.

Giving information about this matter, Delhi Police said that the video which went viral is from Paharganj police station area and this incident happened on the day of Holi. The victim was a Japanese tourist, who was living in Paharganj and has now gone to Bangladesh. Along with this, the police told that the girl has not made any complaint or call to Delhi Police or Embassy.
Police said that three boys including a minor have been arrested in this case. All of them have accepted the incident. All of them are residents of Paharganj area and had carried out this incident during Holi.
Police said that action has been initiated against the accused under the DP Act. However, further legal action will be decided on the basis of merit and according to the complaint of the girl. Earlier, after the video went viral, the police had said that the video is in our notice. Along with this, the police had said that no complaint has been received so far. An email has been sent to the embassy for more information regarding the woman. Along with this, information about the youth seen in the video is also being collected.
The girl tweeted from her Twitter handle that she has reached Bangladesh and was fit mentally and physically.

Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chairperson Swati Maliwal had said she was issuing a notice to Delhi Police to examine the video and arrest the perpetrators.
“Very disturbing videos getting viral on social media showing sexual harassment with foreign nationals on Holi! I am issuing notice to Delhi Police to examine these videos and arrest the perpetrators! Completely shameful behaviour!” Maliwal tweeted on Friday.
The National Commission for Women too took the notice of the video and asked Delhi Police to register an FIR in the matter.
