In a tense incident, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, narrowly avoided a serious mishap as her car collided with a civilian vehicle in Sangam, Anantnag district. The collision left the bonnet of her black Scorpio severely damaged, as depicted in images from the accident site.
The incident occurred while Ms. Mufti was on her way to Khanabal to meet the victims of a recent fire accident. Fortunately, she emerged unharmed from the collision, with no reported injuries. However, a police officer in her personal security detail sustained injuries during the accident.

Expressing gratitude for the escape from harm, Ms. Mufti’s daughter, Iltija, shared on social media, “Ms. Mufti’s car met with a terrible accident en route to Anantnag today. Thanks to the grace of God, she & her security officers escaped unhurt without any serious injuries.”
Undeterred by the incident, the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ms. Mufti, continued with her scheduled visit to Khanabal.
