Lucknow: The notorious Gufran, who was absconding in several cases, died in an encounter with the police. The criminal was originally a resident of Pratapgarh and had carried out criminal incidents in several districts of UP.
In this regard, in a release issued by the police, it was said that at five o’clock on Tuesday morning, DSP DK Shahi had an encounter with the STF headquarters team in the Samada area of police station Kotwali of Kaushambi district.
In the encounter, a miscreant was shot, who was taken to the hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared him brought dead. Notorious criminal wanted in 7 cases of murder, dacoity, attempt to murder.
A reward of one lakh was announced by ADG Zone Prayagraj and Rs 25 thousand by District Sultanpur on the infamous. More than 13 cases of serious incidents like murder/attempt to murder and loot are registered on him in Pratapgarh district etc.
This is the latest in a series of encounters between UP Police and criminals. Since Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 2017, there have been over 10,900 encounters, in which over 185 criminals have been killed.
